Cell Renewal
The skin is the largest organ of the human body, and its overall function is covering and protecting the underlying tissues and organs.
Cell renewal mainly affects the cells of the epidermis. These cells are born in the Basal Layer (the skin’s deepest layer) and eventually reach the end of their life cycle at the Stratum Corneum (the outermost layer) where they die off and are replaced with new cells.
Ideally, this process takes 28 days, but ageing and environmental factors gradually slow down cell renewal. This leads to several common skin concerns: thickening, dulling, wrinkles, and imperfections.
DERMO28’s proprietary blends contain active ingredients, both exfoliating and moisturizing, designed to help effectively speed up skin cell renewal skin at any age ad for all skin types.
Hydration and pH Balance
For healthy, youthful-looking skin, it’s extremely important to promote proper cell turnover.
Other priorities: optimal hydration and maintaining skin’s pH balance. Dehydration, which leads to premature ageing, can also weaken skin’s defences. In order to provide organs with a protective barrier against external agents, the skin’s hydrolipidic layer (composed mainly of water and sebum) plays an essential role. Proper hydration is necessary in keeping the hydrolipidic layer active.
Additionally, our pH levels (optimal is between 4.5 and 5.5) have to do with the body’s level of acidity. When our pH levels are balanced, our skin is more equipped to prevent bacterial proliferation and inflammation.
A balanced pH level also makes skin more receptive to active ingredients in cosmetic products and professional treatments.
